Bomber Jacket

The bomber is one of the most classic jackets there is, and a good choice for a slow-fashion wardrobe or a capsule collection — a front zip, a ribbed collar, ribbed cuffs and hem drawing it in at the wrist and waist. It goes from casual to something near smart without changing anything about itself, which is what earns it the space.

Ours is made in Italy and comes in three finishes: vegan suede in black or dark brown, with a soft brushed surface and a matt finish, or vegan leather in black, which is smoother and picks up more light. The suede reads quieter and takes to denim and knitwear; the leather gives the same shape a sharper edge, and sits better with black jeans, tailoring and a boot. All three are lined in Italian-made viscose, smooth enough that the jacket goes on over a knit or a shirt without dragging, and the drape of the lining is part of why it falls the way it does rather than sitting stiff. The ribbing at the collar, cuffs and hem is cotton, so it has some give and holds its shape rather than stretching out.

The front fastens with a single Italian metal zip, and there are two zipped pockets set into the front at the hip plus a slip pocket inside. It's finished with cotton WVS labelling.

In black vegan suede, wear it over a white polo or tee with slim denim and white trainers — the matt surface keeps everything relaxed. In dark brown vegan suede, it goes with mid-blue denim and a fine knit, or with chinos and derbies for something warmer and a shade smarter. In black vegan leather, take it towards black or indigo jeans with a black tee and Chelsea boots, or over a shirt with tailored trousers and loafers. The shape stays the same across all three, so it's the finish that decides how sharp it reads.
