The Pea Coat was worn first by sailors, and the shape has barely needed changing since the 1720s — double-breasted front, wide notched lapels, a single vent at the back, and enough length to cover you without getting in the way. Ours keeps that line in navy, and it's a coat you can wrap around you and feel properly covered in.
It's cut from a thick-gauge fabric made in Italy using Supima® cotton grown in the USA under the Better Cotton Initiative. Supima has an extra-long staple, which is what gives the cloth its softness and its quiet lustre, and makes it strong and slow to pill. Through the body there's a thermal insulated lining made in Italy from 100% recycled polyester (rPET), so there's real warmth in it rather than just weight.
The front fastens with matt-finish buttons made from recycled compressed paper and resin, and the cuffs are finished with buttoned tabs. Two deep slip pockets sit at the hip and there's a buttoned pocket inside. The coat is lined in Italian-made viscose with a smooth finish, so it slides on over knitwear without dragging.
Wear it over tailored trousers and derbies for the sharper version, or over slim denim with recycled knitwear and work boots for the everyday one. It also goes over a shirt and chinos with loafers, the lapels holding their shape whether you button it or leave it open. It's a coat that takes almost anything you put with it, so let the shoes decide the register: derbies pull it towards tailoring, work boots take it the other way and let the navy sit as a workwear colour, loafers land it somewhere between the two, and white trainers with straight dark denim or a flat-front chino keep it easy without losing the line.

- Lining
- Smooth Italian-made viscose lining (100% viscose), REACH certified, for easy layering

- Showerproof rather than waterproof. The dense cotton-blend face will hold off light rain for a short while, but it soaks through in sustained or heavy wet and takes time to dry. Best with an umbrella in proper rain

My vegan pea coat is warm and durable. I have been wearing it a lot so far this winter. I really like it.
Feels nice and comfy and also looks great.
Couldn’t be happier with this coat. As someone with a tall slim build (6’2”, 180), I struggle to find clothing that fits with sufficient arm length. Size M fits me perfectly. Coat is plenty warm on its own, but also works great over a vest or sweater. The quality of the fabric and construction cannot be overstated.
This is a great coat and alternative to a traditional wool peacoat, but it is a bit oversized. I would recommend ordering one size down from what you usually wear. Even then, the sleeves are still a bit too long, which is the only thing that prevented me from giving it a 5 star rating.
I am usually a XL. I read all the reviews that said I should get an L. So I got an L. And then THAT was still too large. So I exchanged it for an M (unheard of for me to wear a M) and that one fit pretty well except the sleeves were freakishingly long - past my fingertips. However, I liked everything else about the coat so much, that I took it to a tailor, and they shortened the sleeves for me, and now I admit I quite like the jacket. It looks very nice, and it is extremely warm and comfortable even in pretty cold conditions. So overall I’m glad I ordered it and I’m satisfied with the product, but the sizing / fit is really strange and if Will’s fixed this, they’d have a perfect item.
