The crossover is what makes it. Two wide canvas bands laid over one another at the toe, opening into a peep at the front and cut away at the sides so the shoe sits low across the foot and shows plenty of it. There's no fastening anywhere — you step in and it stays — and the whole thing reads as one clean gesture rather than a set of parts.
Traditional espadrille construction underneath: a wedge of coiled and braided natural jute rope, stitched to the upper the way it's been done in Spain for generations, with a thin TR outsole bonded beneath for grip where the rope meets the pavement. The rope gives a low lift at the heel and a texture you can see from every angle — pale, fibrous, handmade-looking against the flat weave of the canvas. Inside, a built-in cushioned footbed topped with soft vegan leather (100% PU) sits between your foot and the jute, so there's padding where a traditional espadrille would give you none. No shank, no structure to break in; the build is soft and moves as you do.
The canvas is the other half of the story: soft, tightly woven, made from 100% recycled polyester spun from recycled plastic bottles. In beige it goes tonal and quiet against the natural rope. Marine gives you the crisp navy-and-jute contrast that's the classic summer combination. Tan sits warmest of the three, close enough to the sole that the whole shoe reads as one continuous colour.
Wear them the way espadrilles want to be worn — wide linen trousers, a cotton midi, a slip skirt, denim shorts, a loose white shirt. They're the shoe you put on for a whole day in the heat and stop thinking about, and they're at their best somewhere with sun on the ground.
